This Is Almost as Bad as a Virus!

This is so mind-bending, that I can't even begin to describe it here. It's so horrible that I don't even want to open my mouth and say it, as if saying it makes it true.

So, I'll let you read the article about it here, and see what you think.

Read what the experts have to say. Well, if there is such a thing as an expert on this, considering that nobody has done any tests or anything.

If you scroll down, there are two links to protest two different aspects of the genetically engineered problem. Click the links and there's an easy way to tell the people who can change this how you feel about it.

First Post

Hi! Welcome to this brand-new blog!

I have a blog called Lost Arts at www.jam2day.blogspot.com, which is all about knitting, science fiction (including movies, TV and books) with some interest in the Middle Ages and a few assorted subjects thrown in.

But I've been noticing that I'm having more and more problems with drugs that are prescribed and not prescribed, and sometimes needed but not available. I've commented on it a few times on my other blog, but I don't really think that that's a good forum for the subject.

Then, last night, I got on Facebook, and was reading a post by one of my favorite people, Jacqueline Lichtenberg .

She said:

I think this is the first time in my lifetime (maybe except for WWII which I wouldn't remember) when we've had a medication shortage in the USA.

She also cited this internet article.

This sparked a lot of comments.

I don't know about the other commenters, but I felt that the amount you could squeeze into a comment just wasn't enough.

So, I've started this blog, and suggested to the group on Facebbook that we continue the conversation here, where comments are unlimited in length.

I was involved in a knit along which was blog based, and they let each person in the KAL sign up, which allowed them to post, so I know that we can make this a cooperative blog for people who are interested in the subject and want to do more than just comment. I'm going to try to figure out how to do that.

I'm going to moderate the comments, which means that you can send me a private message by commenting and mention that you don't want me to post it. If you want to write posts, include your name and email address, and that you want to post, and I'll see if I can figure out how to let you post on this blog. I know that with the other blog, you had to be sent an email invitation in order to be able to post. Anything with an email address will get you an invitation to post, and will NOT be passed along as a comment.

I'm sure there are a lot of you who will just want to comment, so if you're not sending a request to post, I'll just pass through the comments (unless you're selling aluminum siding or something).

I've signed up for a couple of health notifications that are really well set up, and when something that belongs here comes along, I'll post the information.

For instance, recently cherry growers had the nerve to say that cherries are a wholesome food which will help make you healthy, and the FDA decided that if they were going to make health claims about cherries, that made them a drug, and they'd have to go through drug testing trials to be allowed to continue to sell cherries! The group in question had a page set up with a letter to send, which you could add to, or subtract from, and a form to fill out with your name, address, etc. The form took the address information and sent the letter to the appropriate Congress people. It's quick, easy, and effective. I'll be passing on things like that in the future.
